who is studio bini? |
The Story
Studio Bini began as a web based business in the basement of Linde Schlumbohm's Denver home in late 1999, following the birth of her son, Max. Having found herself frustrated by the lack of "cool" infant baby boy clothing, Linde, a 16 year veteran of the fashion business, designed and produced her own infant line. By the time daughter Maya was born in 2001, Linde was wholesaling to boutiques on the East Coast.
Studio Bini was starting to take off, but the long days and overwhelming responsibilities drove Linde to take a full time job and put the business on the back burner. It is on the job that Linde met fellow artist Sandy Brudos and together they drew up a plan for a children's boutique that would specialize in local designers' work and showcase the Studio Bini brand. September 2003 saw the first Studio Bini open in North Denver and one year later another store opened in Lowry Town Center. The original North Denver store has since moved to its funky new home at 1030 Speer Boulevard in downtown Denver’s golden Triangle, where the line is designed then produced locally.
Studio Bini is dedicated to supporting the local economy, while keeping style and quality foremost. The Studio Bini line includes infant, toddler, and young childrens sizes and has a funky, sophisticated yet fun, retro look. Plans to launch a infant bedding line are on the drawing board. The stores carry quality brands of apparel, accessories, toys, and shoes such as Robeez, Zutano, Catimini, Melissa and Doug, Manhattan toys, and many others.
